Academics

In 2009 Dale College matrics achieved a 98% pass rate. Most encouraging though was that 93% of our boys qualified to enrol for either Degree (49%) or Diploma (45%) studies. The number of boys qualifying for the Bachelors is the same as in 2008, but the number qualifying for a Diploma is significantly higher than in 2008

 

Grade 8 and Grade 9: In the junior grades it is compulsory that each learner take 2 languages, MLMMS and the six compulsory subjects, namely NS, EMS, SS, AC, LO and Technology. In addition the school offers specialized teaching in Accounting and Geography to better prepare learners for the senior grades, as well as classes in Computer Studies and Physical Education in order to give learners a better rounded academic education.

Grade 10 to Grade 12: In the senior grades each learner must do two languages, either Mathematics or Math Literacy and Life Orientation. The learner then has the choice of 3 remaining subjects from an extensive list that is limited only due to timetabling restrictions.
